To put it in the words of Peter Fox: ALL NEW! PIKTUU is now officially launched! We have not
PIKTUU, an innovative approach that emphasises the use of printed communication aids and digital PDFs.
Pictograms have been used all over the world for thousands of years to convey information and to understand each other.
A big first step! More than 20,000 REFUGEE TRANSLATOR booklets have been printed and are already in the mail since
PIKTUU bridges the communication gap between immigrants, refugees and the host society by using easy-to-understand pictograms to overcome language barriers. This promotes social integration and understanding, which helps to reduce existing inequalities. Free access to translation tools in different formats creates opportunities for equal participation and integration.
